Ekonomi Bakanlığı’na bağlı Litvanya Turizm Departmanı’nın kuruluşunun 20 nci yılı vesilesiyle planlanan “Milli Turizm Ödül Töreni” 12 Aralık 2012 tarihinde yapılmıştır.

Türkiye sözkonusu törene “onur konuğu” olarak davet edilmiş ve “son yirmi yılda en yüksek sayıda Litvanyalı’nın gittigi ülke” olarak ülkemize verilen ödülü Büyükelçi Sayın Akın Algan almıştır.

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Turkey it is a distinguished honored to receive this award. We initially wish to thank the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism for organizing this event and also thank all the Lithuanian tourists that favored Turkey which led us to be nominated for this honorable award.

H.E. Mr. Ertuğrul Günay Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey apologizes for not being able to participate due to his tight schedule.

I know that our Lithuanian friends are acquainted with Turkish music. For this special occasion Turkish musicians will conduct a rather different symphony, that is the “String Quartet” to commemorate prominent Turkish composer Ulvi Cemal Erkin.
